This beach is part of a continuous stretch of wide sandy beach from Raven Point to Ballyconigar near Blackwater. It is located approximately 10km north east of wexford town in a rural area. The village of Curracloe is located about 1km west of the beach. There are very few buildings located near the beach as a large part of the area surrounding the beach is an Area of Scientific Interest made up of a dune system stretching along the coastline backing the beach itself.
This beach is lifeguarded during the bathing season (lifeguard patrol times are displayed on the information noticeboard at the beach).
