Plaza "Jadran" Omišalj, Beach located in Primorsko-goranska county

Jadran-Njivice beach is an urban beach situated in the
municipality of
Omisalj, in the northwestern part of the island of
Krk where the island draws closest to the
mainland. The beach is located approximately 200
m away from the centerof the village of Njivice
near the Jadran hotel and some 500 m from the Beli
Kamik hotel. The area between the beach and the
hotel is woody, with mini-golf and tenis courts. The
shore near the beach is paved with concrete, as
well as portion of the beach's plateau. The other
half of the beach is covered with pebbles, while
the rock protrusions have been transformed into
sunbathing areas.There are steps that lead to the
beach and a safe ramp for users with various
disabilities. There are also several catering
establishments close to the beach. The beach is
also equipped with sanitary facilities, changing
cabins, recycable waste facilities, life-saving and
first aid equipment and phones. Life-guards are
present from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day during the
season.
The beach participates in local and regional actions
on environmental education in cooperation with
Eco-schools and tourism board, such as cleaning
actions and information about protected species.
The beach will display environmental information
on several boards, including the one in the camp
and on the beach itself.
