Longue de quatre kilomètres, la plage de Saint-Georges de Didonne, protégée par les pointes rocheuses de Vallières et de Suzac révèlent l’environnement exceptionnel dont bénéficie la commune. Au Nord, à la Pointe de Vallières, situé au pied du phare, le carmant petit port est un havre de paix. Au Sud, la forêt de Suzac succède avec harmonie à l’urbanisation sous boisement. Composée de nombreuses essences méditerranéennes, la forêt témoigne du climat océanique tempéré de la côte charentaise.
Enfin, ouverte sur l’océan, la commune est aux portes du plus vaste estuaire d’Europe, l’estuaire de la Gironde.

The 4 kilometre long beach of Saint-Georges de Didonne, protected by the rocky points of Vallières and Suzac, shows that our city enjoys an exceptional environment. In the north, at the point of Vallières, at the foot of the lighthouse, the nice little harbour is a haven of peace. In the south, the forest of Suzac gives harmoniously way to the houses built under the trees. The forest whick is composed of many Mediterranean species of trees, shows a temperate oceanic ckimate. At last, facing the ocean, the city is at the mouth of the largest European estuary, the Estuary of Gironde.
