
Ag. Ioannis Strogylis, Beach located in Corfu / Kerkyra
The beach of Agios Ioannis Strogilis is situated in
the southern part of the island of Corfu and is a
resort beach.The most important environmental
activities undertaken by the Municipality of Melitieon
are Seminars, Lectures, Photo and writing
competitions, clean up drawing competition, etc.In
the wider space of the coast many facilities are
offered, like rent a car, bike, bicycles, water sports
etc. Also, a wide choice of restaurants and
tavernas is provided hotels are situated close to
the beach along self catering apartments.Our
Shingle Beach has a length of 200 meters and a
Width of 15 meters.The natural environment of the
beach has not got any rare kind of animals or
Plants. The flora is rich and consists mainly of olive
trees, cypresses, fruit trees and several kinds of
bushes. The fauna consists only of domestic
animals.The visitors have the following possibilities
in order to reach the coast:1. Green Buses depart
from the centre of Corfu town every half hour the
ride takes 35 minutes and the bus drops you off
right by the beach.2. Driving down by car or
motorcycle doesn't take very long as the beach lies
only 20 kilometres from Corfu town. Leaving the
town, you take the road southwards signposted
for Leukimi. Driving down the east coast of Corfu
you go past the village of Benitses. The beach is
situated just after the tunnel you go through 5
kilometres past Benitses.
