Batsi, Beach located in Kyklades

The beach of Batsi is maybe the most well-known beach for swimming on the island on Andros. It belongs to the Municipality of Ydrousa, which covers the northwestern part of the island.

The  beach is situated within the Batsi dorp, which has preserved its aegean character, thanks to the citizens’ respect for their cultural  legacy. The sandy beach (approximately 500m) is covered by tamarix, that are protected by the Municipality’s environmental activities. The bathers can enjoy their swim and, if they desire, a number of water sports (ski, parachute, games) with absolute safety.

 The visitor can select among staying at the available hotels or rooms/ apartments to let and either entertain himself in Batsi or rent a car/ motorbike and take a tour in the other traditional dorps of the Municipality (11) and of the island.

It is easy and fast to reach the beach using floating means of transport, car or bus, since it is only 8 km away from the island’s port, Gaurio. Gaurio is connected by frequent transport with Rafina and Laurio, as well as with the islands Tinos, Mykonos, Syros, Paros, Naxos, Lesvos and Leros.
