
Archaia Pydna, Beach located in Pieria
The beach of Archea Pidna is with sand and is
located in the resort of Archea Pidna, 2km
southern of the residential area of Makrigialos, a
village and beach resort of 1800 inhabitants. The
environmental education facilities are meetings,
freeing birds, planting trees, creation of advertising
the Aliakmonas River Delta Wetland objects and
beach clean up. In the beach there are not sport
facilities, but visitors can rent a car, bike or bicycle.
In the area there are many hotels and rent rooms.
The length of the beach is 600 m and the width 50
m. The trees that one can find are tamarix
palviflora, pines, palm trees, platans, willows and
aspens. From the fauna one can find shells (petala
sp., balanus sp., chitons sp., littorina sp.), sea-
gulls (Larus auduinnii), ect.The visitors can reach
the beach by the national motorway E75
(Thessaloniki-Athens) approximately 55km from
Thessalonica, exit Makrigialos and entering the
village one takes the main street of the village that
drives to the beach of Makrigialos and continues
driving in the road that directs to Archea Pidna.
