
Rossnowlagh, Beach located in Border
Belalt Strand at Rossnowlagh extends to the north-northwest for over 2km from the cliffs at Coolmore in the south to the intertial rock outcrop at Carrickfad. The beach has a broad low-angle profile with well sorted fine sand as the dominant sediment. Rossnowlagh is a heavily used beach with a long tradation of beach parking and large resident and day-tripper populations. It is one of
Irelands main surfing beaches.
It is lifeguarded from June 22-August 30 daily from 11am-8pm. The beach can be accessed by taking teh R231 west from Ballyshannon. After the village at Coolmore, you have a choice of left hand turns which will take you to the beach.
