Mullaghroe, Beach located in West

Exposed shore with a sandy subsrate. The shore
is located near the Blacksod Baywhich is an area
of scientific interest. The land surrounding the
shore is brackish. Salt marshes are present in
sheltered inlets and provide feeding and breeding
grounds for the bird population. Sand dunes are
located to the east and cliffs have formed to the
west of the shore. The beach is located 6 miles
from Belmullet town. This beach is not lifeguarded but lifesaving equipment is provided.
