Aberta Nova, Beach located in Alentejo

first time candidate in 2004.
An extensive sandy beach situated in the Alentejo
region. The sand is thick and clear in colour. The
beach is limited by fossil cliffs of great
environmental interest. The sea is calm in summer
and with strong currents in the winter.
This beach is classified as a Golden Beach by
another Portuguese NGO.
