Playa Dorada I
It’s a sandy resort beach located in Puerto Plata. The beach has lifeguard from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, lifesaving equipment, sports, rent and accommodation facilities available the whole year. It has facilities, ramps and sites in the beach areas for disabled people. Near it are the Natural Monument “Isabel de Torres” Hill, the Fort of Saint Felipe, and the 27 Damajagua’s Charcos. Beach has 2 information boards with all relevant information (Map, sensitive areas nearby, bathing water quality sheets, conduct code, environmental activities, emergency plan...).
It is located at the East of Puerto Plata City in the highway to Sosúa. The beach can be reached by vehicles that have to be parked at the parking zone, 200 mts away from the coastal zone and it can be accessed too through footpaths from the hotels of the zone. Activities about the environment, Blue Flag program, and reef check have been developed in the beach.
