Escambrón

Escambrón, Beach located in Puerto Rico

has handicap facilities

The Escambron beach is the only public beach
accessible to the residents and visitors of Old San Juan. It is a
pocket beach, 150 metres long, formed between two rocky
promontories and protected from the high-energy
waves of the Atlantic Ocean by an offshore reef.

Apart from enjoying the clear waters and the
protected atmosphere of a small, picturesque
beach, visitors have access to other recreational
facilities due to the fact that the Escambron Beach is part of a
larger metropolitan recreational facility know as the
Third Millennium Park, which includes pedestrian
and bicycle routes.

The Escambron Beach is the
traditional meeting point for community groups
which conduct their daily exercise routines here in
the early morning hours. It is open year round and receives hundreds of visitors everyday.
