The Blue Flag Coordination has during the spring ensured the production of two new Blue Flag publications: Blue Flag Manual and Blue Flag 20th Anniversary Publication
During spring 2007, an update of the Blue Flag manual (“Awards for Improving the Coastal Environment: The example of the Blue Flag”) has been produced. The manual is published electronically in three languages on the Blue Flag website.
It focuses on the development of the Programme in new parts of the world, the process of starting the Blue Flag and the roles and responsibilities of the different actors at the local, national and international levels. This manual has been done in cooperation with UNEP, the UNWTO and was funded by the Caribbean Tourism Project Unit/European Union.
A Blue Flag 20th Anniversary Publication has furthermore been finalised and is available on the Blue Flag website.
The publication gives a short overview of the Programme along with some history and statements of support from UNEP and UN-WTO. There are furthermore a few case studies in the document, provided by the national operators. We hope you will enjoy the publication.
