EPIC - Sint Maarten will start running the Blue Flag Programme on the tropical island of Sint Maarten in the northeast Caribbean from 2008.
At the FEE Executive Board Meeting in November it was confirmed that EPIC - Sint Maarten will become a member of FEE. The organisation will start implementing Blue Flag as their first FEE programme in 2008.
Sint Maarten is one of the five island areas of the Netherlands Antilles. It is located approximately 300 km southeast of Puerto Rico. The Blue Flag Programme will be run on the Southern part of the island only, since the Northern part is an overseas collectivity of France.
