UNEP (division of Technology, Industry and Economics) is a very important partner to FEE in informing the public about eco-tourism with the Blue Flag as example and extending the principles of the Programme to non-European regions.

With the support of UNEP, FEE was able to start the implementation of the Blue Flag Programme in the Caribbean and South East Asia.

UNEP is participating in the International Blue Flag Jury.

UNITED NATIONS WORLD TOURISM ORGANIZATION (UNWTO)

UNWTO is a very important partner to FEE in informing the public about eco-tourism with the Blue Flag as example and extending the principles of the Programme to non-European regions. INTERNATIONAL LIFESAVING FEDERATION (ILS)
INTERNATIONAL LIFESAVING FEDERATION (ILS)

ILS is an important partner to FEE on the safety standards at Blue Flag beaches and marinas. ILS and FEE are currently co-operating on the introduction of the safety risk assessment into the Blue Flag Programme.

ILS is participating in the International Blue Flag Jury.

EUCC - The Coastal Union is an important partner to FEE for the exchange of information on coastal management issues.

International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA)
International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA)

ICOMIA participates with Blue Flag as a member of the International Jury. They provide the programme with expert knowledge on marinas and the boating industry. A member of the Blue Flag Coordination also participates on the ICOMIA Marinas Committee.

EUROPEAN UNION

The Blue Flag Programme assists the Directorate General for Environment on implementing the Bathing Water Directive and the Urban Waste Water Directive.

REEF CHECK
REEF CHECK

Reef Check is an international organisation working with the protection of coral reefs. It is furthermore an internationally recognized coral reef monitoring program.  

The Reef Check monitoring program is part of the Blue Flag beach criteria in the areas with coral reefs.
