Blue Flag first for Sint Maarten and the US Virgin Islands

On the 28 September 2011, the Blue Flag International Jury has awarded the Blue Flag to a beach and a marina in Sint Maarten as well as 4 beaches in the US Virgin Islands for the first time. Sint Maarten and the US Virgin Islands have therefore now completed their pilot phase and have achieved full implementation of the Blue Flag programme.

FEE receives an award for its work on sustainable development of beaches and marinas

Turtle release in Malta!

On the occasion of World Turtle day, Nature Trust (Malta) organised the Eco-Schools Turtle Release event for 2010. Seven loggerhead turtles have been released at the Mellieha Bay which will also link up with the Blue Flag activities for this Bay that is now applying for the full Blue Flag status.
