In 2010, France is very happy to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Blue Flag in France, which shows how important and respected this label is around the world
The Blue Flag was created in 1985 in France under the name “Pavillon Bleu”. Since then, the first eco label for beaches and marinas in the world has been spreading in Europe and became international with the launching of the Blue Flag in South Africa in 2001.
In 2010, France is very happy to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the “Pavillon Bleu” (Blue Flag) in France, which shows how important and respected this label is around the world.
For this special occasion a press conference was held in Mers-les-Bains in the north of France on the 28th of May. Many journalists attended it. To celebrate this special event France had the pleasure to receive Mr. Jan Eriksen, president of FEE.
For the symbol, 25 Blue Flags were raised by the beach and the biggest Blue Flag ever welcomed the numerous guests.
