Golden Sands, Beach located in Varna
Golden Sands beach offers stunning scenery, superb sand, a clean sea, sun, mineral springs. The constant temperature of about 27°C and the microclimate of Golden Sands throughout the season make it a wonderful place for having a rest and fun.
The Golden sands has white golden beach and clear blue sea. There are a lot of very famous and ancient mineral water springs. The resort’s beach strip bordering a luscious forest is 3,5 km long and up to 100 m wide.
Lifeguards are on duty from 9 till 18 from 1 June till 30 September. Handicap facilities and environmental information and education are available. Protected territory in the vicinity of the resort is the
Golden Sands - a national seaside resort complex, 17 km north-east of Varna. The coast region is elevated and forested and slopes down terrace-like to the sea. The sea bottom is comparatively steep-sloped. Several hot-water mineral springs are used for healing and prophylactic purposes. Luxury hotels open all the year round, restaurants, sports and entertainment sites, swimming pools, resort polyclinic, seaside treatment, bungalows, camping grounds, a motel.
The resort of Golden Sands is the largest one on the Northern Black Sea coast (more than 1800 hectares). The area is famous for the purest sand on the Black Sea coast. In Turkish times it was called Ouzounkoum - the long sands.
The resort is abundant in lush vegetation and with the numerous bushes and trees it resembles a real park. The mineral water, as well as the marvellous wood bordering the Frangen Plateau turn Golden Sands into one of the pearls of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
There are water slides, good conditions and equipment for practising all kinds of water sports.
