Paleokastritsa, Beach located in PALEOKASTRITSA
In Corfu island and in the Municipality of Palaiokastritsa there is a beach named “ Palaiokastritsa Xenia”. It is sandy and is a tourist resort, as well as a place that hosts a lot of environmental and educational facilities, such as seminars, lectures, beach cleaning, drawing and photo competitions. There are also lots of sports facilities and also you can hire cars, motorbikes, and bicycles as well.
The beach is surrounded by hotels and bungalows. The length of the beach is approximately three hundred meters and the width is appr. Thirty meters.
The region of coast, as well as the wider region, has not been characterized officially as a region with a sensitive natural environment. The visitors will not meet any kind of rare animals, only domestic and a lot of small animals that live in the forests, like beech martens e.t.c.
The flora of the area is very reach as moreover in all the island, with lots of olive-oil trees, cypresses and fruit trees, as well as lots of different kinds of herbs, such as oregano, thyme e.t.c.
The visitors can get a bus to Palaiokastritsa from Corfu town and in about 25 minutes they will arrive at Palaiokastritsa Xenia beach.
