Aberdour Silver Sands

Aberdour Silver Sands, Beach located in Fife

Aberdour Silver Sands is one of the most popular and attractive sandy beaches on the Fife coast. The beach offers the freshness and variety of the seaside as well as the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. The shore, in its charming setting, looks out to the Islands of Inchmickery and Inchcolm, where there is a famous Abby.  The Fife coastal path passes by this beach and the section from here is well worth walking.

The lifesaving equipment is available at all times of year and lifeguards patrol the beach during the day from 3 July - 20 August.  This year the environmental education theme will be energy conservation.  Beach visitors will be informed about how they can reduce their energy consumption and how this links to climate change and the impact it could have on Fife's Blue Flag beaches in the future.

Access: The beach is just off the A921 from Inverkeithing and Burntisland and ten minutes' walk from the train station.  The coastal path passes this beach too.
